Yasunori Chabata, Director
General Manager, Laser Division
What's the current status of the laser industry?
The laser industry suffered serious damage due to the Lehman bankruptcy. The number of orders that decreased after this collapse started to recover gradually as late as the year 2010. However, it still varies depending on the region; the number of orders received in China is increasing steadily, that in North America is increasing but not sufficient, and that in Japan has recovered by only sixty percent.
What new products will be developed?
We believe that product development determines future business feasibility. Especially to our 3D five-axis controlled laser cutting machine lineup, which are second to none, we will add the new TLH Series of high-speed, highly rigid machines. The high acceleration control of the TLH Series of machines provides the best performance. In addition, we will also further improve our unrivaled technologies for 2D laser cutting machines, such as water fog, premium cut, and ultra piercing.
What are our future plans?
We will make an effort to further increase our market share in China and develop our business in the markets of Southeast Asia and India.
Because our new TLH Series was developed in consideration of use on a mass production line, we will take an active approach not only in the trial production field in which we have an overwhelmingly good track record but also in the mass production field. In addition, we will also work hard toward the further improvement of our business, products, and service quality to always ensure customer satisfaction.
